Design of a Hybrid Data Structure for Automatic Door Visualisation
Data contains unprocessed facts and figures that require processing to become functional. In contrast, information includes data that is already processed, organised, and in value-added form. A data structure is a data storage and organisation format in which data can be stored in a computer system. When an incorrect data structure is used, it leads to degraded performance in terms of complexity and interpretability. Data mining, data science, and big data are some revolutionary fields that work on processing data to develop more informed business decisions by studying trends and patterns in the data. In this paper, we have designed a hybrid data structure to improve the interpretability of a data structure and decrease associated complexity in Python by combining list and dictionary data structures. We demonstrated our proposed hybrid data structure on simulation results for an automatic door environment regarding opening and closing times. This proposed hybrid data structure can be used for access control systems, facility management, resource management, traffic flow analysis, energy management and employee management.
