Synthesis of thiocarbonyl analogues of colourimetric coumarin-based chemosensors: altering the selectivity from Fe to Hg( <scp>ii</scp> ) and Cu( <scp>ii</scp> ) ions

In this study, we showed that by changing a carbonyl oxygen into its thiocarbonyl analogue, using Lawesson’s Reagent, one can alter the chemosensor’s selectivity towards metal ions.
