Cover Feature: De‐ and Rearomatisation of Pyridine in Silylene Chemistry (Chem. Eur. J. 53/2024)
This work introduces a novel method for the dearomatisation of pyridine through metal-free reactions of pyridylamino-functionalised silylene with benzophenone or acetophenone that challenges traditional metal–ligand approaches. Notably, the product formed with benzophenone can undergo rearomatisation upon heating. Both steric hindrance and aromatic groups play critical roles in the dearomatisation process within pyridylaminosilylene reactions. More information can be found in the Research Article by X. Sun, P.
