Reliability analysis on cavern stability and monitoring system development for extremely deep underground laboratory
<p indent="0mm">The extremely deep underground laboratory has become a focus and trend of basic scientific research in various countries around the world, bringing significant opportunities and challenges for the development of deep rock mechanics. The safety and stability of caverns are the foundation and key to various scientific research in the Extreme Deep Laboratory. This article focuses on the research direction of Jinping Deep Rock Engineering Mechanics and Safety (DREM) group, it is based on the second phase project of the world’s deepest underground laboratory in Jinping. The basic engineering geological conditions of the laboratory are introduced, and the safety issues and monitoring results of the tunnel during excavation construction and operation are analyzed. A stability and reliability analysis method for the tunnel based on support vector machine response surface is proposed. Advanced technologies such as Internet of Things, digital twin, and data visualization are adopted to develop a stability monitoring and early warning system for the Jinping Extremely Deep Underground Laboratory tunnel. The interactive analysis mode of WEB and 3D is designed to achieve real-time monitoring and safety analysis of various monitoring physical quantities in the laboratory tunnel through the combination of offline and online. The research results indicate that the surrounding rock of the tunnel is in a safe and stable state during the long-term operation of the second phase of the Jinping Extreme Deep Laboratory. This study provides important reference for the stability assessment and safety monitoring of deep laboratory caverns.
