Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the research trends of academic research materials related to the 2022 revised physical education curriculum policy using big data-based text mining techniques. Methods For this purpose, a total of 77 academic data were collected by web crawling of academic papers containing ‘2022 Revised Physical Education and Curriculum’ in the database (RISS) provided by the Korea Education and Research Information Service, and the collected data were analyzed using text mining analysis methods such as word frequency, TF-IDF, and LDA analysis. Results The results are as follows: First, as a result of the keyword frequency analysis of the studies of the 2022 revised physical education curriculum policy, ‘education’, ‘research’, ‘physical education’, ‘curriculum’, ‘analysis’, and ‘learning’, ‘Utilization’, ‘class content’, ‘sports’, and ‘curriculum’ appeared as key keywords related to the revised physical education curriculum, and they could be visualized through the word cloud. Conclusions Through the above results, we were able to reflect on the results of our research so far, and furthermore, we were able to explore and suggest the direction of future research.
