INTOXICAÇÃO MEDICAMENTOSA PELO USO DE GARRAFADAS: O PAPEL DO FARMACÊUTICO NA SAÚDE DA MULHER
The indiscriminate use of medications, especially through "garrafadas," represents a serious public health issue with significant implications for women's health. Self-medication, administration errors, and suicide attempts are some of the main causes of medication poisoning, as indicated by data from the National System of Toxic-Pharmacological Information (Sinitox). Lack of information regarding dosage and administration, coupled with the influence of advertising and easy access to medications, contribute to the increase in such cases. The role of the pharmacist emerges as crucial in the prevention and management of these poisonings, providing public education, product regulation, and guidance on responsible medication use. Coordinated strategies are necessary to address this issue, prioritizing awareness, regulation, and strengthening the pharmacist's role in promoting women's health and preventing poisonings.
