A NECESSIDADE DE ESTERILIZAÇÃO DE PRODUTOS PARA SAÚDE IMPORTADOS NO BRASIL: UMA QUESTÃO DE SEGURANÇA

Globalization facilitates access to innovative Health Products (HPPs), but it also brings significant challenges, such as contamination during transport in containers, compromising initial sterilization. In Brazil, these products are distributed to hospitals and clinics, and the lack of re-sterilization can expose patients to serious infections. According to RDC 15/2012, it is recommended to re-sterilize materials transported between hospitals, which makes it even more essential that imported PPS be re-sterilized when they arrive in Brazil. Studies reinforce the importance of this process, highlighting the need to ensure the safety and efficacy of health care. This article defends the re-sterilization of imported PPS, aiming to align with international standards and ensure the quality of care provided to the population.
