BIM Applications in Design with the Example of Prefabricated Construction in China

BIM (Building information modeling) and prefabricated construction are both hot spots in the development of new international construction technologies. As a major construction country, China is actively using BIM to promote urbanization construction. However, prefabricated construction is faced with many problems in the construction process, including the high cost of the prefabricated construction, the inaccurate component construction, the lack of timeliness of the construction information transmission, and the unreasonable management methods also have loopholes in the construction quality. Through the case study, this paper illustrates the application of BIM technology in scheme design, preliminary design, and construction design, analyzes the BIM scheme, BIM deepening design, concrete engineering collision inspection hot issues, illustrates the BIM can use advanced 3-D visualization construction technology, avoid the shortage of traditional construction, reduce the construction cost, promote the wisdom city construction.
