Robustness of Cloud Security against Brute-force Attack
Cloud computing is a ground-breaking technological advancement that has the potential to profoundly impact the global landscape and reshape the future. It brings many benefits to users, operators, and industries, but also comes with challenges that must be overcome. The main concerns are related to the security and privacy of data stored in the cloud. To address this issue and establish a secure gateway to cloud applications, this study proposes two different strategies to improve cloud security resilience against brute force attacks. The first strategy advocates enhancing password strength by implementing a one-time password (OTP) system in combination with the message digest (MD5) algorithm. The second strategy focuses on strengthening the encrypted data (e.g., images and videos) to protect the information stored in the cloud platform. The Rivest Cipher (RC6) algorithm is used. The results show that these approaches can effectively prevent brute force analysis. Finally, the proposed study performs simulations using encryption tools and C++ programming language to verify the proposed method.
