Oralidad: tradicionalidad, popularidad y transterritorialidad
This paper reviews the concept of orality, intersecting with traditionality, popularity, and transterritoriality. It examines how Spanish romances are repurposed in the American context, highlighting geographical relocations that diverge from original thematic units. This transterritoriality complements folklore geography’s unifying principles. The study illustrates cultural transmission’s dynamic nature, showing how literary forms like Bernal Francés and broadsheets adapt to new environments and traditional oral life. These transformations involve new forms and channels of cultural expression. By exploring these changes, the paper highlights the interplay between geographical relocation and cultural recontextualization, emphasizing the continuity and innovation in evolving oral traditions.
