La lírica de la orfandad en los impresos populares mexicanos de inicios del siglo XX
In the last years of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th, orphanhood as a theme had poetic manifestations of interest in Mexico, both in its cultured and popular ways. Valuable sources of the latter are the prints from publishing houses such as those of Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, Eduardo Guerrero, and Antonio Reyes. This study offers a characterization of the orphanhood lyrics disseminated by these printing presses, mainly by the first of them. An organization is proposed in two sections: the songs —composed of several stanzas— and the laments —made up of a copla (a verse of four lines) and several décimas (a verse of ten lines) that gloss it. In each of them a distinction was made between a masculine or feminine enunciation. The analysis dialogues with corpus such as the Cancionero Folklórico de México. Also, it intends to encourage future analyzes of the representations of sexual gender and social class in this literature about orphanhood.
