The State Says I Am Too Visible
When I wake up in the morning, my bodymoves the way I want it to. I run my hands down the scars of my chest.Trimming my beard at midnight, the hairsof me littering the bathroom sink. The curvature of my arms in the mirror. The sound of my voice when I say my own name. Most of the time, I cannot remembera before. I have always been in thisbloom. I love Tuesdays. I love being called young man in the grocery store. I love the balance between protective and soft. A Boy is a Big Cat. A Man is a Cradle.
