Development of a calibration facility for imaging spectrometers
Imaging spectrometers have been widely used in various fields such as public health, food safety, environmental monitoring, especially in industrial testing. Compared with conventional spectrometers, imaging spectrometers have distortions, e.g. smile distortion and keystone distortion, due to design and assembly deficiencies. As a result, the previous calibration method is no longer fully applicable to imaging spectrometers. A novel calibration facility has been developed, which consists of an integrating sphere, a wavelength calibration source, two radiance calibration sources and a monitor. The experiment results show that the uniform source can be used to calibrate the spectral range, wavelength accuracy and spectral radiance of the imaging spectrometer.
