Ergonomic Design of the Cockpit Interface of a Promising Aircraft
The article considers an integrated approach to the problem of developing crew workplaces and cockpit interfaces of an aircraft when designing complex aviation equipment. The paper notes the importance of engineering-psychological and ergonomic design of crew workplaces and the information and control field of the cockpit, taking into account the multimodal interaction in the “pilot-aircraft” system. The works considers individual types of interaction, including promising ones, as well as proposals for creating and ergonomic assessment of effective and safe interfaces, which will improve the quality level and efficiency of aviation systems, the aircraft control quality, while reducing the likelihood of crew errors. The paper describes special equipment, called a universal multifunctional search stand for conducting ergonomic studies and ergonomic assessment of technical solutions being developed. The work analyses all stages of work using the stand; shows the technology of end-to-end design of aircraft crew workplaces and the development of a cockpit interface having control and coordination of specified ergonomic indicators of the aircraft being developed at all stages of its creation, namely from the initial stages of design to operation as intended. The stand universality, the possibility of quick adaptation to various projects are noted, the abilities of accelerating the technological process of design are described, allowing for continuous ergonomic assessment of decisions taken at each step of the research and design work. The author draws the attention to special medical equipment in the stand, with the help of which it is possible to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the pilot’s functional state during the work. Diverse medical equipment allows carrying out tasks related to studying the “brain-computer” interface. The paper stresses the need not only to improve the ergonomic characteristics of the aircraft cabin, but also to optimize the process of its design.
