UN and BRICS+ in countering wars and conflicts to eliminate the energy crisis
The 2022 energy crisis has been a major shock to the entire world. The year began with anticipated oil shortages and actual coal shortages, marking the start of the crisis. The environmental agenda shifted focus to prioritizing the security of energy supply, both in terms of ensuring a smooth energy transition and preparing for extreme scenarios. Today, the ongoing energy crisis threatens the normal functioning of society, including fuel for transportation and logistics, electricity for lighting and work, and gas for cooking. The world is currently facing a severe energy crisis, a period of energy shortages and rising prices. This crisis is driven by several factors, including the depletion of non-renewable energy sources like oil. However, the most pressing factor is war. Energy shortages will increase costs for individuals, as many will struggle to meet their basic needs. This will compel people and governments within the UN and BRICS+ to seek solutions for energy conservation. The author argues that the most effective solution to save energy is to address conflicts and wars, and transition to peaceful living.
