Exploring Educator’s view on Micro-credentials : A Text Mining Analysis

Micro-credentials have emerged as a promising approach to address the evolving needs of learners and employers in the 21st-century job market. This study aims to investigate educators' perceptions of micro-credentials using a text mining analysis. The study draws on a systematic review of the literature that identifies the opportunities and challenges of micro-credentials. The analysis explores themes related to the meaning and conception of micro-credentials in higher education, as well as the perceived benefits and challenges of implementing them. The findings suggest that while educators recognize the potential of micro-credentials to increase access to education and better align learning outcomes with industry needs, they also express concerns about issues such as the challenge to pursue micro-credentials. The study concludes with implications for policy, practice, and future research on the evolving landscape of micro-credentials in higher education.
