Analysis on Adaptive Difficulty Adjustment for Player Satisfaction in Game: A Systematic Literature Review
The different speeds on players learning speed and game mastering can cause a mismatch between the game’s difficulty and the player's skills, that’ll leading into frustration and loss of interest. This study looks at how Adaptive Difficulty Adjustment (ADA) affects player enjoyment and progression throughout the game. ADA changes the game's difficulty in real-time based on each player's performance and emotions, creating a more personalized and engaging gaming experience. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) as the base to examine how ADA system will impact different areas, such as player learning, confidence, engagement, and accessibility for people with physical disabilities. The findings show that ADA boosts player satisfaction by offering challenges that are adjusted over time to match skill levels, which improves player retention and educational results. However, relying too much on ADA system could also hinder long-term skill development. Future studies should aim to improve ADA systems, use advanced AI algorithms, and consider player expectations to make gaming experiences even better.
