Hierarchical Scheduling of Flexible 5G Networks
This article presents the implementation results of Hierarchical scheduling approaches that have been put forth for adaptable fifth-generation (5G) networks. In order to efficiently manage the radio resources in 5G networks, hierarchical scheduling divides the scheduling decisions into various tiers. The fundamental ideas of hierarchical scheduling are initially covered in this study, along with the key issues facing 5 G networks. The most recent hierarchical scheduling strategies, including centralized, distributed, and hybrid methods, are then reviewed. On the radio-frame time scale, the hierarchical coordinated scheduler exhibits processing speed that is equivalent, according to experimental observations. Furthermore, when the numbers of transmission antennas and mobile terminals are 9 and 12, respectively, in numerical simulations, the overall system throughput and latency with the hierarchical coordinated scheduler is 37% times higher than that obtained by the conventional scheduler technique. The deployment of flexible 5 G mobile networks will be made possible with the proposed scheduling technique.
