Suppression of Spatial Hole Burning Effect in Single-Mode VCSEL by Using Zn-Diffusion Optical Aperture

By optimizing the structure of single-mode VCSEL with Zn-diffusion apertures inside, we can effectively suppress the spatial-hole-burning effect and achieve a record-high SM output power of 16 mW, heavy damping E-O frequency response, and a wide 3-dB bandwidth as 18 GHz for 32 Gbit/sec transmissions.
