Teach to Reach Younger Students by “Electronics”

This paper investigates the problem of learning Electronics efficiently among first-year Computer Science students. It originates in the identification of an initial fear related to circuits and hardware, fueled by the lack of skills in this field. Based on the advantage given by the fact that students are at an age of great receptivity and like to be stimulated, we adopt methods that train thinking, by promoting active learning, increasing optimal motivation, and facilitating the sequence of the learning phases. The results show a favorable response of the students to this type of approach.

Abstract

This paper investigates the problem of learning Electronics efficiently among first-year Computer Science students. It originates in the identification of an initial fear related to circuits and hardware, fueled by the lack of skills in this field. Based on the advantage given by the fact that students are at an age of great receptivity and like to be stimulated, we adopt methods that train thinking, by promoting active learning, increasing optimal motivation, and facilitating the sequence of the learning phases. The results show a favorable response of the students to this type of approach.
