A New Step-Up/Down DC-DC Converter

This paper proposes a new buck-boost topology that contains as semiconductor elements a single MOSFET and three diodes, and as reactive elements two capacitors and three inductors out of which two are coupled. The DC analysis has been performed to derive the static characteristics of the converter. The design equations are provided, and the converter was simulated to prove the feasibility of the proposed architecture, and to validate the theoretical considerations.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new buck-boost topology that contains as semiconductor elements a single MOSFET and three diodes, and as reactive elements two capacitors and three inductors out of which two are coupled. The DC analysis has been performed to derive the static characteristics of the converter. The design equations are provided, and the converter was simulated to prove the feasibility of the proposed architecture, and to validate the theoretical considerations.
