Heterogeneous Integration of Quantum Dots and Silicon Photodetectors for Visible Light Receiving

Integrating color-converted quantum dots (QDs) with silicon-based photodetectors (PDs) can effectively address the low response of PDs to short-wavelength light. We characterized four QDs materials with various conversion colors and integrated them with commercial silicon PD. Experiments demonstrate that down-converted QDs can significantly expend the response spectrum of PDs.

Abstract

Integrating color-converted quantum dots (QDs) with silicon-based photodetectors (PDs) can effectively address the low response of PDs to short-wavelength light. We characterized four QDs materials with various conversion colors and integrated them with commercial silicon PD. Experiments demonstrate that down-converted QDs can significantly expend the response spectrum of PDs.
