Structuring a Renewable Energy System Powered Retail Hub using Pvsyst Software

In the rapidly evolving urban landscapes, commercial edifices are sprouting up like wildflowers each passing day. The commercial sectors bear substantial loads that devour vast amounts of electrical energy, a demand that can be met with the help of green sustainable energy sources. Grid-connected renewable energy systems (RES) are ideally tailored for both residential and commercial complexes. This paper envisions a RES-powered retail hub with a real-time load capacity of 1547 kW situated in Trichy, where 10% of its daily energy demand, corresponding to 280 kWp, is fulfilled by a solar photovoltaic system. The innovative integrated PV system for the proposed commercial building has been meticulously crafted using PVsyst software. Pvsyst adeptly simulates the specified load and determines the necessary solar power to meet that demand. The simulation outcomes reveal that a PV module configuration of $50 \times 17$ strings with a tilt angle of 10.5° is essential to meet the overall energy needs, achieving a performance ratio of $\mathbf{8 0. 6 \%}$. The resulting system operates at an efficiency of $\mathbf{1 8. 1 2 \%}$.

Abstract

The simulation outcomes reveal that a PV module configuration of $50 \times 17$ strings with a tilt angle of 10.5° is essential to meet the overall energy needs, achieving a performance ratio of $\mathbf{8 0. 6 \%}$. The resulting system operates at an efficiency of $\mathbf{1 8. 1 2 \%}$.
