Ultrafast Temporal Integration and Pattern Recognition with Photonic-Electronic RTD Spiking Neurons
We demonstrate integrate-and-fire behaviour in Photonic-Electronic RTD spiking neurons. Operating with ultrafast optical input pulses (<100’s ps-long), temporal integration produces neuromorphic spiking responses that enable RTD neurons to successfully recognize 4-bit binary patterns.
