Large-size Geiger-mode Avalanche Photodiode quenched by Dynamic Memristor

This study explores a Dynamic Memristor (DM) for quenching large (3mm) Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes. Results show significant improvement in count rate, jitter, and afterpulsing using DM quenching compared to a conventional fixed resistor, offering a more practical photon detection method.

Abstract

This study explores a Dynamic Memristor (DM) for quenching large (3mm) Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes. Results show significant improvement in count rate, jitter, and afterpulsing using DM quenching compared to a conventional fixed resistor, offering a more practical photon detection method.
