Smoke Detection Using an Optical Sensor
This paper presents an improved solution for the use of optical sensors for smoke detection with digital output. It will be part of a digital system employing a microcontroller. These systems often produce better results than their analog counterparts, having better detection accuracy. The data are transmitted through a communication protocol, SPI, and the microcontroller will initiate a phone call by a GSM module. The architecture, detailed hardware design, and software development, together with PCB artwork, are disclosed.
