Sub-100 fs Pulses From Bragg Laser Diodes

Quantum well Bragg Reflection Laser (BRL) diodes demonstrate 94 fs pulses and a peak power of 16.9 W. These devices exhibit simultaneous Q-switching and mode-locking. These record-breaking pulses are enabled by the dispersion properties of BRLs, and have the potential to enable unique entangled-pair chips.

Abstract

Quantum well Bragg Reflection Laser (BRL) diodes demonstrate 94 fs pulses and a peak power of 16.9 W. These devices exhibit simultaneous Q-switching and mode-locking. These record-breaking pulses are enabled by the dispersion properties of BRLs, and have the potential to enable unique entangled-pair chips.
