Monolithic 40-nm Tuneable InP Laser with Asymmetric Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

We report on the performance of a monolithic InP-based tuneable laser with two ring resonators and an asymmetric Mach-Zehnder filter. We achieve ~40 nm tuneability in C-band with <100 kHz intrinsic linewidth at >40 mA SOA current. SMSR mostly remains 20−40 dB during the tuning.

Abstract

We report on the performance of a monolithic InP-based tuneable laser with two ring resonators and an asymmetric Mach-Zehnder filter. We achieve ~40 nm tuneability in C-band with <100 kHz intrinsic linewidth at >40 mA SOA current. SMSR mostly remains 20−40 dB during the tuning.
