Discretization of tilted fiber Bragg grating spectrum for sensing and coding

We propose to discretize the spectra of tilted FBGs to form binary codes of "0" and "1" and to correlate such bits with a target measurand. As bits are the language of digital technologies, the approach proposed here is a new manner of interrogating TFBGs.

Abstract

We propose to discretize the spectra of tilted FBGs to form binary codes of "0" and "1" and to correlate such bits with a target measurand. As bits are the language of digital technologies, the approach proposed here is a new manner of interrogating TFBGs.
