Unlocking Multi-Scenario Sensing Capabilities in the Mid-IR using Polycrystalline Silicon Metasurfaces
The design and operational principles governing alldielectric metasurfaces, operating in the 4 ~ 8 µm mid-infrared band and customizable for gas and liquid sensing, are presented. A comparative analysis of silicon meta-atoms on CaF<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> or Si<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf>N<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf> substrates and optimization towards enhanced infrared absorption are provided.
