Light emitting diodes as photovoltaic devices
We investigate the performance and energy harvesting potentials of visible and near-infrared light-emitting diodes when illuminated by various sources such as solar, fluorescent tubes, LED, and halogen lamps. Conversion efficiency as high as to 40% can be obtained from commercial LEDs even with low-intensity illumination.
