Deep Learning Techniques for Herbal Plant Detection

In herbal plant sciences, Deep Neural Network (DNN) integration has emerged as a potential new avenue that promises unparalleled achievements in the identification, classification, and understanding of the health benefits of herbal plants. This study explores the automation of image analysis and natural language processing (NLP) for the goal of herbal plant identification using DNNs, namely Hierarchical Feature Extraction Networks (HFEN) and Contextual Correlation Integration Networks (CCIN). By combining image processing and natural language processing (NLP) methods, this study offers a novel approach to plant classification. This suggests the use of a hierarchical feature extraction network to discriminate between distinct plant species based on visual signals, particularly leaf form. The network uses leaf picture data to extract multi-scale features such as texture, shape, vein pattern and colour to produce an accurate representation of each species. To increase classification accuracy, it also makes use of a contextual correlation integration network, which analyses textual data such as botanical descriptions using natural language processing (NLP). Through the alignment of visual features with contextual data, the dual-modality technique guarantees a classification system that is both more accurate and precise. The work offers a comprehensive analysis of the efficacy of numerous deep learning models.
