Phase reconstruction challenge for dynamic signal measurement in optical fiber distributed sensors based on Rayleigh backscatter and φ-OTDR
Fiber optic sensor systems like DTGS and DAS, utilizing Rayleigh backscattering, effectively monitor temperature and acoustic vibration. In φ - OTDR - based systems, phase demodulation detects thermal and strain changes. Abrupt shifts challenge traditional unwrapping algorithms, leading to errors, highlighting theoretical limits and enhancing optical sensing systems' understanding.
