180° bending waveguide integrated in a monolithic III-nitride optoelectronic on-chip system

An optoelectronic on-chip system integrated with 180 ° bending waveguide is reported. The chip-scale system contains near ultraviolet source, monitor, bending waveguide, electroabsorption modulator and detector, which are integrated with top-down approach from a III-nitride-on-Si wafer. Optical data communication in the system is verified.

Abstract

An optoelectronic on-chip system integrated with 180 ° bending waveguide is reported. The chip-scale system contains near ultraviolet source, monitor, bending waveguide, electroabsorption modulator and detector, which are integrated with top-down approach from a III-nitride-on-Si wafer. Optical data communication in the system is verified.
