Developing a Strategic Framework for Cloud Adoption in Higher Education
Education is a cornerstone of economic growth and development, especially in emerging nations. Its role has expanded significantly with the integration of information technology. The requirement for educational institutions to have information technology infrastructure, in addition to the ongoing upkeep of such infrastructure, is a significant strain on those institutions, particularly during times of economic turmoil. Computing in the cloud consequently becomes a favoured alternative for maintaining an optimal level of service quality despite the limited resources that are currently accessible in organizations. Cloud computing, which is a constantly changing idea, has been a cause of innovations and improvements in Information Technology and more importantly in education. The virtualization of resources in addition to this technology’s flexibility and scalability justifies its ongoing acceptance at a wide variety of educational institutions. This research discusses cloud computing technology given its applications in education, and most significantly, a comprehensive overview of earlier work in this field.
