Asymmetrical Functionalization of Polarizable Interface Restructuring Molecules for Rapid and Longer Operative Lithium Metal Batteries (Small 51/2024)
Lithium Metal Batteries In article number 2405143, Haesun Park, Won-Hee Ryu, and co-workers demonstrate that 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt (MPS), with its asymmetrically functionalized thiol and sulfonate groups, acts as an interface-restructuring and surface-flattening agent for long and rapid operation in Li metal batteries. This study introduces a new class of electrolyte additives for Li metal batteries by controlling functional groups and polarizable properties.
