Income inequalities in some countries: analysis of determinant variables
The work aims to identify the determinants of Income Inequality in the G10, BRICS and Mercosur countries. Income inequality and its relationship with the variables that can be measured were highlighted and, in this context, unemployment, GDP, investment in R&D, average years of compulsory education and the tax burden via income tax were highlighted. income. The variables unemployment, GDP and income tax did not show significance at 10% with the GINI coefficient, but R&D and average years of compulsory education showed a negative relationship with income inequality with the ability to reduce its concentration. The result suggests prioritizing actions that expand the R&D network such as university-business-government partnerships with strategies such as Centers of Excellence that use academics, laboratories and resources from public and private organizations in a shared way.
