A Biopolítica no Contexto da Comercialização de Vacinas Durante a Pandemia

The article presented here aims to insert biopolitical thinking within the current context of worldwide commercialization of vaccines against COVID-19. For this, it is necessary to first establish the existing differences between power and biopower, using Michel Foucault's vision in the development of biopolitics portrayed here. With the development of these concepts, and delimiting their differences, it is possible to take the next step, and analyze whether the commercialization of vaccines can be seen only as a marketing phenomenon arising from capitalism or also as a phenomenon to be morally and socially considered within the biopolitical context. . Faced with the evident moral and social context, as it involves human lives, it is necessary to delve into issues of a governmental nature, inserting nationalist and necropolitical perspectives of governing, so that one can understand the reason for the current situation and perception of the way in which it takes place. the commercialization of vaccines during this pandemic period. With that, we can finally evaluate and discuss a possible change in the biopolitical behavior of world governments to prevent the monetization of life from perpetuating itself to the detriment of other aspects present within the biopolitics proposed by Foucault. We cannot forget that when we talk about biopolitics we are also working on issues related to health, race, sexuality and susceptibility to danger, without leaving economic issues aside.
