Formulation Development and Evaluation of Chitosan Based Mucoadhesive for Intranasal Delivery of Microspheres Containing Labetalol

Biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic compounds can be given through the nose, which is seen as a promising way. For some drugs, the nasal route is a good alternative way to give them. The nasal route looks like a good way to deliver biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic chemicals. When it comes to giving drugs, the nasal way works just as well as other methods.  For nasal delivery, a new biodegradable and bioadhesive microsphere device has been created. To make the microspheres, a mucoadhesive polymer called chitosan was used. The microspheres were then studied for their particle size, surface shape, manufacturing output, and ability to entrap substances. Emulsification cross-linking is a good way to make chitosan-based mucoadhesive labetalol particles that stick to mucus membranes. The study concludes that labetalol can be given through the nose using microspheres made of a chitosan polymer that sticks to mucous membranes. The most positive results came from F9. Because of this, the microspheres that were made showed promise as microparticles in a controlled transnasal drug delivery method.
