STUDENTS' SELF-ASSESSMENT OF READINESS FOR WORK IN A SCHOOL DURING THEIR STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY

The article presents the results of self-assessment of students' readiness for professional activities in school and higher education. This opportunity is defined by Article 46 of the Federal Law on Education. At the time of the study, 39 students from the Department of Biological Education of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology at Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University took advantage of this opportunity. The study was conducted using survey and analysis method. 32 bachelor students and 7 master students participated in the survey. The answers to the survey questions allowed the authors to identify: professional difficulties faced by students combining study with work in school; the level of satisfaction of students with their work in school; self-assessment of preparedness for professional activities; as well as the survey included standard questions about the level of preparedness, age, and gender composition of the participants. The analysis of the results showed that all respondents experience difficulties in professional activities. Self-assessment demonstrates a lack of competencies necessary for professional activities among students. Lack of confidence and support prevent students from "settling" in school. The generalized survey results allowed the authors to conclude the necessity of involving students in mentoring programs and professional communities for practicing teachers, thereby ensuring their professional development.

The analysis of the results showed that all respondents experience difficulties in professional activities. Self-assessment demonstrates a lack of competencies necessary for professional activities among students. Lack of confidence and support prevent students from "settling" in school.
