MONITORAMENTO DO DESENVOLVIMENTO NOS PRIMEIROS MIL DIAS, DEVIDO ÀS CONDIÇÕES DE SAÚDE DA DÍADE MÃE-FILHO
The prospective cohort study investigated the relationship between the Developmental Surveillance Instrument (IVD) in the Child Health Booklet and the health conditions of the mother and baby during the first thousand days of life. A total of 83 babies born in 2019 were followed, with 54.22% being male. The IVD was used to monitor child development and compared to the health conditions of the mother-child dyad. Results showed significant associations between the IVD at the 1st, 4th, and 8th months and child health issues, birth complications, and hospitalizations (p<0.01). Prenatal challenges and family health problems were also associated with the IVD at the 4th and 8th months (p<0.05). Maternal depression in the 1st month significantly correlated with the IVD (p<0.05). The IVD is an essential tool for monitoring child development and facilitating early interventions, promoting health during the first thousand days of life, especially in adverse contexts.
