Análise etnobotânica/etnofarmacológica de garrafadas a base de plantas medicinais de um mercado de Fortaleza-CE

The objective of this work was to analyze, according to the literature, whether the medicinal plants that are described on the bottle labels treat the reported pathology, through the spontaneous declaration of the vendors. A collection of 10 bottles of medicinal plants was carried out, which were chosen at random, with different therapeutic purposes and with legible labels. These were acquired with their own financial resources to carry out this study. The bottles were also analyzed for the construction of tables with the identification of the scientific name, popular name, the parts of use of each species of plant, verifying if the purpose of each one of them corresponds with the pathology described on the labels of the bottles that were analyzed. . Furthermore, a search was carried out in the databases and the information collected was compared with the current literature. Research shows that the use of bottles can cause adverse reactions and/or intoxications, which could become a relevant public health problem. It is inferred that in order to avoid adverse reactions, it is necessary to carry out health education and awareness-raising work with herbalists and the population, by professionals specializing in medicinal plants, such as pharmacists.

Abstract

The objective of this work was to analyze, according to the literature, whether the medicinal plants that are described on the bottle labels treat the reported pathology, through the spontaneous declaration of the vendors. A collection of 10 bottles of medicinal plants was carried out, which were chosen at random, with different therapeutic purposes and with legible labels.
