Social relationships via social media and their impact on the nature of family relationships: (a field study on a sample of families in Laghouat city)
In recent years, the rapid proliferation of social media platforms has significantly altered the dynamics of human interactions, reshaping traditional modes of communication and influencing social structures. Such changes are particularly evident within family relationships, as virtual interactions are increasingly replacing direct communication. This study aims to understand the impact of social relationships through social media on the nature of family relationships. It involves a field study on a sample of families in Laghouat City, where a questionnaire was used to gather data and information from the sample participants. The descriptive method was employed to observe and interpret the phenomenon. The study is primarily guided by the question: How do social media sites affect family relationships? The study arrived at several significant findings: * building social relationships on social media platforms affects the privacy of relationships within the family; * virtual social relationships play a role in forming new styles of family interaction.
