IMUNOMODULAÇÃO E TERAPIA ANTINEOPLÁSICA A PARTIR DE COMPOSTOS BIOATIVOS DE COGUMELOS: CONTRIBUIÇÕES À CIÊNCIA
Introduction - Mushrooms are fungi with great economic and biomedical importance. In addition to being rich in nutrients, they can help treat diabetes, obesity and hypertension, and offer benefits for mental and antineoplastic treatment. Objectives - The objective of this study was to broadly describe the bioactive components of fungi that are important in antineoplastic treatment. Methods - The present work is an integrative review of databases such as PUBMED, Google Scholar and SciELO in order to understand how these bioactive compounds function as an adjuvant in antineoplastic therapies, complementing conventional treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Results and discussion - The articles discussed here, broadly, address the importance of biochemical elements present in fungi such as Trametes versicolor, Ganoderma lucidum, Cordyceps sinensis and Agaricus blazei. Conclusion - Therefore, the process of scientific-theoretical development on immunomodulation and antineoplastic therapy related to bioactive compounds from mushrooms cannot stagnate and it is extremely important that research on this topic is developed in order to improve the theoretical framework.
