Renal Involvement in Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma
A BSTRACT The association between renal disease and hematolymphoid neoplasms is increasingly recognized, with kidneys often affected through mechanisms such as acute tubular necrosis, tumor lysis syndrome, and lymphocytic infiltration of kidney parenchyma (LIK). This case report presents a male patient in his fifties with no previous comorbidities, who initially presented with fever, abdominal pain, weight loss, and pedal edema, leading to the discovery of bilateral obstructive nephropathy. Imaging revealed conglomerated retroperitoneal mass infiltrating the pancreas, small bowel loops, bilateral kidneys, and ureter. A diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was made following a biopsy of the retroperitoneal mass, and the patient was started on R-mini-CHOP chemotherapy. Despite initial stabilization of renal function, the patient was lost to follow-up.
