Analysis of Actual Travel Energy Consumption of Hybrid Electric Vehicles
In-depth research on the travel characteristics and energy consumption patterns of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles plays a positive role in optimizing the performance of hybrid systems and improving overall vehicle energy efficiency. This study selected five private cars in Hangzhou for actual travel data collection and innovatively proposed an energy consumption analysis method based on the engine energy contribution. By subdividing travel units and defining the engine energy supply ratio, the energy consumption under different modes was analyzed. The results show that most trips are short distances, and half of the travel units are in a critical SOC state, reflecting the characteristic of PHEV users in Hangzhou being not active in charging. In different modes, the proportion of engine energy output to total energy consumption is positively correlated, indicating that while the engine increases the driving range, it also increases the level of on-road energy consumption. This analysis also helps manufacturers better understand consumers' actual usage patterns, facilitating further improvements in vehicle design that align more closely with market and environmental demands.
