Microscopic Behavior of Air-Gap Discharge in Direct-Current Electric Field of Rod-Plate Electrode Under Atmospheric Pressure
A non-uniform electric field numerical analysis and experimental model of 5mm rod-plate of air-gap is made up, the behavior equations of charged particles during the discharge process of the model are established by using the fluid mechanics method, and the flux correction transport algorithm (for short FCTA) is adopted to analyze the behavior characteristics of charged particles of the model. More importantly, the complete process of air-gap discharge is shown in the visualization through rigorous numerical simulation, and then dynamical behaviors of air-gap discharge trigger, avalanche generation, streamer formation, discharge trajectory evolution and charged particle distribution are found simultaneously in details. The research results of this paper not only provide theoretical and experimental means to broaden the application field of air in the future, but also give a technical reference for developing green dielectric.
