Technical Analysis and Strategic Solutions for Aerial Fiber Optic Network Deployment in Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Infrastructure
This paper explores critical technical factors in deploying aerial fiber optic networks, focusing on proximity to low and medium voltage overhead conductors, public lighting fixtures, ground clearance in various settings, and horizontal separation from buildings. The study reviews global standards, including insulated fiber optic technologies such as Kevlar and ADSS self-supporting cables, comparing them with Greek regulations. Proposed solutions address these technical challenges, offering tailored recommendations for optimal installations that meet regulatory requirements. The findings contribute to best practices in aerial fiber optic installations for both national and international contexts.
