Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects of Gas Power Generation Playing the Regulatory and Supportive Role in the New Power System
As the demand for regulatory and supportive power sources in the new power system increases, gas power generation is gaining more attention due to its flexible start-stop capability, fast response speed, and wide regulation range. However, in recent years, its full potential in the new power system is limited by problems such as resource constraints, lack of effective price transmission mechanisms, and insufficient self-reliance of core equipment. This paper analyzes the main factors currently constraining the development of gas power generation in China, outlines the future development trends of gas power generation, and proposes relevant prospects and suggestions on gas power generation supporting the flexible operation of the new power system.
