Redistribution and management of stored energy in electric vehicles for grid integration

This work presents a multifunctional chain for the redistribution of solar energy integrated in the single-phase grid in parallel with a non-linear load. This process is carried out using bidirectional converters and supported by the energy stored in electric vehicle’s battery. The principle of extracting the maximum power produced by the solar panel is implemented by the Maximum Power Point Tracking’s InC algorithm. The duty cycle managing the switching sequences of the bidirectional DC-DC converter is generated by the Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) while the non-linear load inserted in the chain is identified using robust bias-compensated normalized maximum correntropy criterion (BCNMCC). Based on the latter method and the equivalent parameters of the battery and solar panel, a single-phase inverter control is performed. In the case of grid-connected power generation, a synchronization unit, namely the phase-locked loop (PLL), is indispensable in such a system. All the performances are evaluated in V2G and G2V modes on MATLAB/SIMULINK platform.
